Adam and Christy Coppola, will be beginning their GIVE A BIKE: 50 State Bicycle Tour in January from San Diego, CA. Join them for food, drink, and raffles at The Blind Lady Ale House on Sunday January 9th, for a kick-off event to support their journey and mission: to give bicycles to those in need.
Adam and Christy will be raising money for World Bicycle Relief and Achilles International by completing a bike tour of all 50 states in a single year. Their trip will take them west across the US southern states, then North along the eastern states, and then across the US once more, pedaling through the northern states. They will take a ferry from Seattle, WA to Juneau, AK and from Juneau a flight to Hawaii where they will complete their bike tour, all within one calendar year.
Through Christina’s writing and Adam’s National Geographic Adventure award winning photography, they plan to capture a fan-base of adventurers, wander-lusters, and cyclists as they share their journey online along the way. They hope to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief by gaining followers, and giving talks to bike advocacy groups, and sharing the benefits that a bicycle can have for an individual in a developing country. They also plan on supporting wounded US veterans by raising funds to support Achilles International’s Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans, this organization is working to rehabilitate amputee veterans through exercise and competition on hand-cycles.
They hope to meet you and share some food and drink at the Blind Lady Ale house. Who could refuse good food, a brew, and the chance to win prizes, all for a good cause. Come wish them luck on their journey and Support the GIVE A BIKE: 50 STATE TOUR.
